Pebbles emerged onto the South African music scene in 2005 with her debut album Playful Soul, reshaping R&B with her distinctive style. Garnering two SAMA nominations, she stands out with her unique voice and approach.
Drawing inspiration from a myriad of artists, including Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, Sarah Vaughan, Anita Baker, and Amy Winehouse, Pebbles’ music reflects her influences while maintaining her originality.
Her 2011 sophomore album, Phenomenal, showcased her evolution as a songwriter and producer, blending sophistication with raw emotional depth. Over the years, she has collaborated with industry greats like Zubz, RJ Benjamin, Boddhi Satva, Nothende, and Tumi & The Volume, demonstrating her versatility as an artist. Beyond solo projects, Pebbles fronted the band Newtown, exploring diverse musical avenues and lent her voice to iconic projects, including the Ke Nako anthem for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
After a hiatus, she returned in 2023 with Love is a Verb, supported by the Concerts SA Digital Mobility Fund. In 2024, she released the single Interstellar with DJ Bellybutton and delivered a series of well-received Cape Town performances.
Now, as she celebrates the 20th anniversary of Playful Soul in 2025, Pebbles continues to evolve and captivate audiences with her unparalleled musicality, authenticity, and profound storytelling, solidifying her place as a true force in the industry.
