Muriel Mokgathi-Mvubu (South Africa)

MoAfrika wa Mokgathi is a poet, singer, curator, teaching artist and a serial civic leader and co-founder of Hear My Voice NPO. She is the author of my tongue is a rainbow (2019) and co-curated the Nobel peace prize week( Sweden;2022), co-curator and official partner of EUNIC spaces of culture: Right to speak project lead by Goethe Institute JHB(2022) also co-founder and co-curated of the South African Saxophone Symposium (2020).

She was named one of the Mail & Guardian's top young 200 South Africans (2020) and an alumni of the wits university postgraduate honours creative writing course(Marit student;2019), YALI RLC (2017) and the VANSA cultural leadership programme (2021/2022). Wa Mokgathi has shared her poetry physically and online in China, USA, Sweden, Nigeria and Mozambique . My tongue is a rainbow was launched in the USA, Washington DC during the Azania to DC Tour (2019). Music collaborators include Nduduzo Makhathini and Gabi Motuba. She is currently working on a music and poetry album. wa Mokgathi serves on the AIRCO(Association on independent Record companies of South Africa) and Tech the nation NPO.
