Ayanda Jiya is a 2X SAMA nominee and Soul R&B artist based in Johannesburg.
She has been in the music space for 15 years now. Some of her notable achievements include her debut single being nominated for a Metro FM Award. She was also twice nominated in the SAMAs. First was for Best Music Video, and in 2024, her smashing album, Tale of a Fallen Queen, was nominated for Best Soul/R&B Album. Her discography includes one EP, two albums, and a host of singles. Her body of work has also featured artists like A-reece and StogieT.
She is currently on a national tour called “Ayandastand Love Tour,” which began in Durban in February and will include Johannesburg, Cape Town, and other cities. She has also been invited to perform at the Micannes Conference in France in June. She has also previously showcased at SXSW in Austin, Texas, in 2022. While on tour there, she also won a talent search contest in LA, USA. The success of her first trip to the USA saw her connecting with a promoter who booked her on a 10-city tour of the US end of 2022 and beginning 2023.
In 2024, she was one of the 5 artists selected to represent South Africa at the Hong Kong Arts Expo. Ayanda is currently working on he next album and has already released one single in February, with another one expected end of March. She’s on a quest to release one single a month until her album drops in the second half of the year. The desire to showcase at the Music Imbizo will also be to promote her new album that will be set to drop around the same time, while also continuing to celebrate her 15th year journey in the music industry.
