Film Festival Appoints a Festival Director
[Durban – South Africa, 10 July 2023] – The Music Imbizo is thrilled to announce the appointment of Zanele Nhlapo as the Festival Director for the highly anticipated The Music Imbizo 2023 Film Festival that runs from Tuesday 29 August to Saturday 02 September at the KZNSA Gallery and Bean & Bistro Durban. With her extensive experience in the creative sector, particularly in film, sports, performing arts, and culture, Zanele brings a wealth of knowledge and a strong commitment to diversity and inclusivity to the role.
As the Festival Director, Zanele Nhlapo will be responsible for overseeing the planning and organization of the festival, ensuring a smooth operation of the event. Her key responsibilities include managing and coordinating film submissions, selections, and scheduling, as well as collaborating with the Festival team to deliver a high-quality film program.
Zanele’s professional background demonstrates her expertise and proficiency in managing complex projects. With her experience in production management and line producing, Zanele has a comprehensive understanding of the filmmaking process. Her role as a Production Manager and Line Producer at Bunzi Bear Pictures showcased her ability to oversee production budgets, negotiate contracts, and ensure the smooth operation of day-to-day tasks.
Zanele Nhlapo’s educational background, including a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management and degrees in Marketing and Sports Management, further enhances her ability to excel in her new role as Festival Director. Her passion for authentic story telling, combined with her diverse skill set, brings a unique perspective to the festival.
