Call: Speakers
The Music Imbizo has opened its Call for Speakers for the 2026 edition, inviting industry professionals, creators, researchers, executives, policymakers, and innovators to submit proposals to contribute to the conference programme.
The event takes place 26–29 August 2026 in Durban, South Africa, under the theme: “Toward a Sacred Economy of Sound – Building the Systems for a Conscious Music Industry.” The programme will examine how music ecosystems can build stronger systems that protect creativity, enable ethical innovation, and expand fair value creation across the music value chain.
The Music Imbizo welcomes speaker proposals that are practical, future-facing, and grounded in real experience. Priority will be given to sessions that offer clear insights, tools, frameworks, case studies, and perspectives relevant to African and global music markets—spanning areas such as music business models, digital transformation, intellectual property, policy, funding, live markets, distribution, audience development, education, and creative technology.
Applications are open now.
Closing date: 15 February 2026
