The Music Imbizo has confirmed the official dates and theme for its 2026 edition, taking place 26–29 August 2026 in Durban, South Africa.
Now entering its next chapter as one of Africa’s long-running music industry platforms, The Music Imbizo 2026 will be delivered under the theme:
“Toward a Sacred Economy of Sound – Building the Systems for a Conscious Music Industry.”
The 2026 theme responds to a fast-shifting global landscape where technology increasingly shapes how music is created, distributed, discovered, and valued. The programme will explore how African music ecosystems can build stronger, fairer, and future-fit systems—while protecting the cultural, human, and spiritual dimensions of creativity.
Across four days, The Music Imbizo will convene artists, music businesses, policymakers, platforms, educators, investors, and innovators for a programme that includes industry talks and keynotes, panels, workshops, showcases, deal-making and networking spaces, and cross-sector activations connecting music, culture, technology, intellectual property, and creative enterprise.
Further programme details, including calls for participation and announcements, will be released in the coming months.
