Melissa Jimenez

Melissa is a woman of many talents: Singer; Creative Consultant; Entrepreneur; Fulbright Scholar, Arts Administrator — she is someone who never stops challenging herself and bringing the best out of everyone around her with her helpful demeanor. Whether it be planning a TechStars Startup Weekend (powered by Google for Entrepreneurs) or consulting for festivals like Eye on India, Wabash Arts Corridor or Big Walls, she works to create opportunity for others to thrive, and this work is clearest in her passion for music and the performing arts of Trinidad and Tobago.

With her years of education and experience, she has launched business initiatives in both Trinidad and Chicago and sees herself as a lifelong learner – “there’s always something new to learn”. Passionate about helping others she has worked with NGO’s – KIND – Kids in Need of Direction as the Marketing Manager and has served as the Director of Partner Relations with VCTT – Volunteer Center of Trinidad and Tobago as well as volunteered at several other NGO’s. She wants to see the Caribbean’s arts industry grow and become a force to be reckoned with.

Melissa is currently the General Manager of Trinidad and Tobago Music Company Limited (MusicTT), a state-owned agency under the Ministry of Trade and Industry where she is responsible for steering the business development and export activity of the music sector.
